There are three looooooooooong weeks till election day. Expect all the stops to be pulled out in this high stakes election.
Yesterday in the Wall Street Journal, and today in USA Today, the 94 year old evangelist Billy Graham ran this full page ad.
“The legacy we leave behind for our children, grandchildren, and this great nation is crucial. As I approach my 94th birthday, I realize this election could be my last. I believe it is vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel. I urge you to vote for those who protect the sanctity of life and support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman. Vote for biblical values this November 6, and pray with me that America will remain one nation under God.”
Billy Graham, Montreat, N.C.
It is stunning because I don’t believe Graham has ever done anything like this before in a US election.
Graham has spent time with and ministered to every president since Harry Truman. He has seen a lot come and go in our country.
This is his parting message and it comes with the same punch on marriage and family that is being articulated by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
What do you think about it?

Don, I studiously avoid getting into political discussions with anybody because I am Christ’s ambassador. However I do often say things exactly like what Dr. Graham has stated while reminding them that they should vote and that they must recognize that all human political systems are doomed to failure and that we serve a Sovereign God.
Surprised but it only points out how critical it is to AMERICA and the world Scott
Thank you Billy Graham. Thank you too for speaking out for our country under God.Thank you for urging Christians especially, to YOTE. The importance fot marriage between a man and a woman.
I respect Rev. Graham so much. His faithful gospel ministry has helped put thousands into God’s eternal presence. Therefore, it is so disheartening that given the opportunity to make such an historic statement, he, like so many current evangelical leaders, support a very narrow vision of Biblical (Christian) values and principles. BGEA’s recent decision concerning Mormonism is quite stunning.
